TILE CLEANING FAQS
How much does this service cost?
Prices are based on how many linear feet of tile your pool has, and how much calcium has built up. Generally it's about $5-$6 per linear foot.
How long does it take?
Depending on the size of the pool - Anywhere between 2-4 hours.
Will you need to drain my pool?
We will drain about 6 inches of water to expose all of the tile for cleaning.
In some cases, if the pool water is relatively old, and has an extremely high calcium content, we advise doing a
full drain. If your water is too calcium dense, the build up on the tile can start again fairly soon after cleaning. If you start with fresh water, it will contain less calcium hardness, and therefore the tile will stay cleaner for longer.
What kind of product do you use again? Is it safe?
We clean the tile using magnesium sulfate at a high pressure. Magnesium sulfate is more commonly known as
epsom salt. On the MOS hardness scale - Epsom salt is harder than calcium, but softer than your tile, so it is
a great and natural way to break up the calcium without damaging your finish.
Some of the salt will dissolve naturally in your pool and will not effect swimming or any other chemicals.
The leftover salt and calcium at the bottom of the pool after cleaning will be vacuumed out of the system so
that it will not clog your filter.
